My stay at this resort was a mixed experience. While the location by the Carson River provided beautiful scenery, and the staff were accommodating, the overall condition of the property left much to be desired. I found the hot springs not included in the price to be frustrating, and the pool wasn't heated, making it quite uncomfortable. Although there were positive moments, especially with the dining experience, the outdated facilities dampened my enthusiasm for a return visit.

Rooms
5.0
The room I stayed in was spacious but clearly dated, resembling styling from the 1980s. It had a kitchenette which was beneficial, yet the maintenance issues, like the non-working jacuzzi tub, were disappointing.
Service
6.0
I found the service to be somewhat inconsistent. While some staff members were friendly and accommodating, others seemed less helpful, which affected my overall experience.
Location
8.0
Located beautifully by the Carson River and at the foothills of the Sierra Nevada, the location is truly remarkable. However, note that the hot springs access comes at a high daily fee, which was an unexpected cost.
Dining
9.0
Dining at Harriet's Cafe was a highlight; the food was praised for its quality and presentation. It exceeded my expectations, and despite being pricier, it was well worth it.
Facilities
5.0
The facilities were lacking, especially the pool which wasn't heated and could have been maintained better. The hot springs, while appealing, incurred an additional cost which I felt was unreasonable for a resort.

5.8/10

I had a mixed experience at the resort. While the natural hot springs were fantastic and offered much relaxation, the accommodations felt quite outdated and in need of repair. The value for the price I paid was questionable, especially considering the limited amenities and the overall ambiance of the rooms.

Rooms
5.0
The rooms had a tired feel with uncomfortable furniture, dim lighting, and dark interiors that seemed to call for constant electric lighting even during daylight. However, I appreciated having a kitchenette and a balcony with a mountain view.
Service
7.0
The resort's service was accommodating, and the staff was eager to help, making the check-in process a bit smoother despite issues with my reservation.
Location
8.0
The resort is tucked away from the bustle of city life, providing a peaceful environment. It's an ideal base if you're planning to explore both the hot springs and nearby attractions.
Dining
5.0
Dining options at Harriet's Cafe weren't impressive; I found the food to be overpriced and lacking in flavor compared to some local alternatives.
Facilities
5.0
While the mineral hot springs were a highlight, the overall facilities seemed neglected, with the pool area and spas requiring significant updates.

This resort is nestled in a beautiful location near Lake Tahoe, perfect for relaxation and enjoying scenic views. The hot springs were a highlight, although the additional fee for access could be seen as a drawback. The dining at Helen's Cafe was delightful, offering tasty breakfast and dinner options. However, the customer service left much to be desired, particularly in some instances.

6.6/10

I had a mixed experience at David Walley's resort. On one hand, the views of the Sierra Nevada were spectacular, and the pet-friendly environment was a huge plus. However, the layout of the property was quite inconvenient, requiring a lot of walking through the parking lot to access amenities. Additionally, I faced an issue with the water temperature in the tub, which detracted from the overall experience.

Rooms
6.0
The one-bedroom suite I stayed in was average, with some uncomfortable furniture and a dated jacuzzi tub that didn’t work properly. However, it was clean and had good blackout curtains.
Service
7.0
The service was pleasant, and the staff was helpful during my stay. They provided good recommendations for local activities and dining.
Location
7.0
The location is decent, being a short drive to Genoa and close to some great hiking spots. However, accessing amenities from my suite required walking through parking areas, which was less than ideal.
Dining
8.0
Dining at Harriet's Cafe was quite enjoyable, with a quirky clientele and good food. I also appreciated the option to order in from Domino's, which added convenience.
Facilities
5.0
The facilities, especially the mineral hot springs were nice, but the lack of direct access from most accommodations and the unheated public pool were drawbacks.

The resort offers a beautiful natural setting with lovely hot springs that provide a relaxing experience. However, my stay was marred by poor customer service, and the facilities could use some improvements to enhance the overall experience. While there's ample opportunity for outdoor activities and exploration nearby, the dining options left much to be desired.

Rooms
5.0
The rooms were in need of a deeper clean and updating. The furniture felt uncomfortable, and the dark paint scheme made the space feel cramped even though it was spacious.
Service
5.0
Service was inconsistent. While some staff were friendly, there were instances of unhelpfulness that really detracted from my stay.
Location
9.0
The location is stunning, nestled in a valley surrounded by beautiful mountains, making it a great base for exploring the area.
Dining
5.0
Dining was quite expensive and did not match my expectations for quality; I found it disappointing overall.
Facilities
6.0
The hot springs were a fantastic highlight, but the overall facilities need more attention to be top-notch.
